When it comes to dusting, use an actual feather duster. If you do not own a feather duster, use cloths. We recommend soft cloth, chamois, lint free cloth or microfiber cloth. Make sure the cloth is clean before using it.

There are a few horror stories out there about dusting acrylic awards with a tissue or paper towel. Stay away from tissues and paper towels! The fiber will act as very unwelcome sandpaper and scratch the surface of your item.

For light smudges or finger prints, the warmth of your breath and a soft cloth should be more than enough. For more persistent smudges or stains, *NEVER* use household cleaning products. If there is a chance that the product contains ammonia, alcohol or abrasive chemical elements: *DO NOT USE*. Household cleaning products such as Clorox, Fantastik, Hertel, Windex, Lysol, Pinesol, 409 or Mr Clean (only to name a few) may corrode your acrylic to a point where the damages can be *IRREPARABLE*. What you want to do is use a solution made of warm water, a drop or two of soap, scrub like there’s no tomorrow with a soft cloth, rinse and dry.

For scratches, always contact an acrylic specialist i.e. your wisely chosen manufacturer, Design Franc Art, to assess the state of the award or deal toy BEFORE using any scratch removing products. Some work, some are highly abrasive even if they are labelled as specifically working for plastics.  Sometimes, it’s wiser and less expensive to have your wisely chosen manufacturer repair those scratches instead of paying for a product that might cause more harm than anticipated.
